Why Bluff City LAX?
We started Bluff City LAX to give Memphis girls lacrosse the spotlight it deserves. I’ve heard that lacrosse is the fastest growing sport, not sure where I heard this or if it is statistically true but I’m a believer. One thing I do know for sure is the game is growing fast in Memphis, and the girls deserve more coverage — I wanted to create a space where players, teams, and fans could stay updated, celebrate local talent, and build community around the sport we love.
Where We’ve Been This Week.

From the opening whistle to the final buzzer, it was a great showcase of talent and teamwork—a fantastic game to watch and a memorable evening for fans of both teams.
Lausanne Collegiate School vs. Bartlett High School
Lynx Dominate on the Road with 9–2 Win Over Panthers
On Wednesday evening, we traveled to Bartlett High School to catch the Panthers and the visiting Lynx. It was our first time at Bartlett, and we were truly impressed—the school and their grounds were beautiful, providing a perfect backdrop for a great night of lacrosse.
From the opening draw, the Lynx came out strong, establishing an early rhythm and taking a 3–1 lead into halftime. Lausanne’s defense stayed tight, while their offensive unit kept the pressure on throughout the game.
The play of the night came at the end of the third quarter when Lausanne’s #1 delivered an electrifying buzzer-beater goal that sent the sideline into a frenzy.
The Panthers fought hard, but Lausanne’s cohesive play and aggressive attack proved too much. The Lynx cruised to a decisive 9–2 victory.
Briarcrest Christian School vs. Hutchison School
Briarcrest Holds Off Hutchison in a Hard-Fought Battle
On Thursday evening, the Hutchison Sting took to Dobbs Field to face off against the Briarcrest Saints in what felt like more than just a regular-season matchup. After a 45-minute lightning delay, both teams took the field—and from the opening whistle, the energy was electric. Whether it’s officially a rivalry or not, it sure played like one.
Hutchison wasted no time setting the tone, scoring just 50 seconds into the game and jumping out to an early 2–0 lead by the end of the first quarter. The Sting looked sharp and aggressive, feeding off the home crowd's energy, their defense was swarming.
But Briarcrest wasn’t rattled. In the second quarter, #15 for the Saints completely took over, dominating the draw controls and sparking a momentum shift that proved to be the turning point of the game. With multiple draw wins and quick goals, Briarcrest flipped the script and went into halftime with a 5–2 lead.
The second half saw Hutchison battle back with grit and determination, mounting a late surge in the fourth quarter. But the Saints held strong under pressure, ultimately fending off the comeback to secure an 8–6 win.
It was a gritty, fast-paced game full of emotion, hustle, and heart—exactly what you hope for under the lights.
